Who I am

A short introduction

Brooksi Bottari is a licensed mental health counselor and certified expert trauma professional with more than a decade of experience. Her clinical work centres on sexual trauma, ADHD, Veterans, and LGBTQ+ advocacy and  awareness.  She is a certified Rapid Resolution Therapy practitioner, a compassion   fatigue train-the-trainer, and a sound healing therapist trained through the Globe Institute.

She holds a Master’s degree.  Brooksi has spoken at national and regional conferences and has trained   hospital staff and first responders on compassion fatigue and team resilience in trauma-exposed workplaces. She has trained hundreds of practitioners on best practices for working with female Veterans and on  SOGIE (sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression).

Her first book, The Queer Guide to Going No Contact, is forthcoming.

Writing and intellectual work

Why I write

Writing is where the private work of the consulting room meets the public conversation. [Add the client’s account of their writing practice: what they write about, where it has appeared, and what the book is trying to do.]

The human element

What I keep returning to

[A softer, first-person paragraph here: what informs the work outside of training, what the client is reading, what they are curious about right now.]
